Role of Bridesmaids and Groomsmen

Wedding ceremony varies according to preference. Some wants it to be simple with few attendees while others like to be huge with long list of bridesmaids and groomsmen. Although this is optional but their presence is greatly appreciated.

Bridesmaids and groomsmen play an essential role in the wedding. During the early years, their presence during the wedding is match needed to ward off evil spirits, who might be present during the ceremony to spoil the event. It is their belief that by wearing the same attire as the bride and the groom, the evil spirit will be confused as to who the real bride and groom are. Although the history behind their participation started centuries ago during the Roman time. Best man protects the groom from the family of the bride who might come to steal the bride. The bridesmaid on the other hand, accompanies the bride as she travels to the place where his groom lives for the wedding ceremony.

During the ceremony, bridesmaids and groomsmen, serve as witnesses to the vows made by both the bride and the groom. Their presence during the exchange of  "I dos" helps strengthen the love and trust of the couple because of their shared intentions to protect the couple.

Bridesmaid and groomsmen are also present in celebrating the joyous life of the couple. They are  there to make a toast and cheer up together for a happy life ahead.  And to make the celebration smooth sailing, bridesmaid and groomsmen help in the preparation starting from the engagement party up to the very special day. They see to it that everything has been set prior to the commencement of the wedding ceremony. Assisting the guest to their seat and to oversee the flow of the reception's party.

And although this historical background was much different from today, we need to show appreciation to our bridesmaid and groomsmen. For bridesmaid gifts, is not that difficult to look around. However for groomsmen it's a bit harder. So, if you have difficulty to shop  groomsmen gifts . You can always visit Executive Gift Shoppe. They carry a huge selection of unique groomsmen gift in a variety of price ranges. They will give a wide selection according to your needs.

6 Helpful Tips for Choosing the Best Online Dating Service

When choosing the best online dating service, it is important that you find sites with good feedback from friends and review sites, look for one that offers the kind of relationship you want wherever you are, see if you can search according to interests and hobbies, check out sites that give you more options for your search, find one that you can afford, and try out different sites and compare.
With the many dating services available on the Internet, it can be very confusing to find the best service. To help you find the best online dating service, consider the following useful tips:
 1.       Find sites with good feedback from friends and review sites
Probably the easiest way to look for the best online dating service is to ask your friends and relatives who have tried using dating services. Ask for their comments and feedback about the site. You can also check out trusted review sites and see how the different dating services perform. List five to ten best-rated services and compare them.
2.       Look for one that offers the kind of relationship you want wherever you are
When canvassing for online dating services, make sure they offer the type of relationship you want. Do you want a date who can simply hang around with you and your friends? Do you want someone you can seriously go out with and date regularly? Check out if these websites include individuals in your area of preference, too. You could be somebody from St. Petersburg but looking for Tampa dating services, for example.
 3.       See if you can search according to interests and hobbies
To truly enjoy your date with someone, you need to choose a person who has more or less the same interests and hobbies as yours. It is important that you both love your activities. For this reason, always take care to see if the particular dating service of your choice offers a search option that includes your hobbies and interests.
 4.       Check out sites that give you more options for your search
Aside from hobbies and interests, the more options you can find in the dating service, the better. Make sure you find your preferred criteria, such as height, complexion, and even nationality. Religion can also be another important factor you need to consider when looking for a date, especially when you are looking for someone that you would like to eventually marry.
 5.       Find one that you can afford
From your list of chosen online dating services, see which one offers reasonable rates. There are many online dating services that offer free registration. However, do not forget to also look at the costs of simply using their services.
 6.       Try out different sites and compare
Finally, the best online dating service does not only give you more options and more criteria for your search, but it also needs to have a website that is user-friendly and has great service. Try out different sites and see which one is to browse, lists more individuals, and gives you  the most timely responses to your queries.
Choosing the best online dating service may not be very easy. Just remember to apply the helpful tips mentioned above to keep the fun and excitement in dating. Who knows, your next date might soon become your better half that you stay with and keep for life.

Sketch Your Wedding Gown

While browsing in the net today, I stumble this wonderful site about sketching a wedding gown. I got to think about how awesome it would be to  have a sketch of  my dress. ^-^.

This is one of my favorites bridal portraits by Brooke Hagel an artist and designer living in Manhattan. She'll do custom portraits for any occasion. Her bridal design, sketches and shots caught my eye.

$350 is the cost for an unframed piece of work
$14.95 is the cost for an unframed piece of work
The initial deposit of $100 is for 3-4 thumbnail rough sketches emailed to you. Once you choose the one like most, the balance is due and the custom sketch will be completed and mailed to you within 4-6 weeks

Dreamlines is another option and affordable. You can get a sketch of your gown. The only downside is that your not included in the portrait. But for affordable as $100 for 8 1/2 x 11 is an awesome and very good option.

Our Means Of Communication

One of the most important aspect of a successful relationship is communication. Lack of communication can result to misunderstanding, mistrust, doubts or can even lead to separation. A long distance relationship are  even more difficult to maintain. Though some long-distance relationships certainly succeeded but they require careful navigation from the people involved to steer trough the obstacles brought by on geography.

Being in a long distance relationship  for almost three years already, our means of communication is our telephone and computers. Without this two things we didn't know if these relationship worked out. And of course, trust and hold together the love that we feel with each other, long distance relationship can and do work eventually.

Before we have a computer, our communication is just merely on our mobile phone.  Mig33 mobile messenger, nimbuzz messenger, celicity sms, yahoo mobile, ebuddy are our means of communication. Thus, I cannot leave without mobile phone on my side.

These are the phones that I love so dearly, the mobile phones has been part of my everyday routine. Though the Nokia n70 is not working anymore but I still keep it because these phone has a lovely meaning in my life. I met my fiancee through with these phone. Nothing special as such, love to have it and can reminisce the memories every time I look at it. The small blue nokia, was given by a friend last 2005 during my birthday here. It wasn't a new phone when she gave it to me but the thought matters most. Even she is in Canada now, but our friendship remains. These phone reminded me of how lucky I am chosen as one of her friends. I met her when I was three months here, since then we became good friends. The phone still working, and I'm still using it as my roaming phone line.

These is my project I bought after four years here in Israel. My means of communication to my parents, my brothers and sisters, and my friends. I bought it in second hand too. My friends has been telling me to sell it and have a new one, but I can't because the thought of letting go this thing is painful for me. It is literally eight years old and even I have difficulty using this laptop, I still  love it and no matter what, I will keep it. I bought a notebook though!

Origin Of The Engagement Ring

An engagement is a promise to marry, and also the period of time between proposal and marriage - which may be lengthy or trivial. During this period, a couple is said to be affianced, betrothed, engaged to be married, or simply engaged. Future brides and bridegrooms are often referred to as fiancees or fiances respectively.

Origin of the Engagement Ring

Engagement , or betrothal, rings date back to the ancient days of marriage by purchase when gold rings were circulated as currency. The groom-to-be would offer his bride-to-be a gold ring both as his partial payment and a symbol of his intentions.

Brides-to-be in these earlier times wore woven bands made of rush (a flexible marsh plant with hollow stems), and replaced them each year. Roman brides-to-be wore rings made of iron to symbolize the permanent, unending nature of marriage. During Medieval times, grooms-to-be placed the ring on three of the bride's fingers in turn to represent the Holy Trinity -- the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Wedding Traditions and Their Meanings

We have all heard the wedding tradition - Something old, something new, something borrows and something blue.. But have you heard of the ending - a sixpence (or a penny) in her shoe? It's surprising how many people have never heard the full saying.
Here are the outline from  for the most popular traditions and also their origin and meanings. Traditions are lovely way to incorporate rituals that have been used by the bride across the world .

Something Old - This represents the link of the bride's family and their past. A popular choice is antique jewelery or a handkerchief that has been past down through generations. If you don't have anything in your family to use, don't be afraid to start your own traditions.Visit an antique store or go through your mum/grandma's jewelry collection

Something Old – This represents the link with the bride’s family and their past. A popular choice is antique jewelery or a handkerchief that has been past down through generations. If you don’t have anything in your family to use, don’t be afraid to start your own traditions. Visit an antique store or go through your mum/grandma’s jewelery collection.

Something New - This represents success and good fortune for the bride's new life with her husband and family - the most poplar choice is generally the wedding gown.

Something Borrowed - This reminds the bride that family and friends will always be there for her when she needs help - This can be anything you choose, however must be returned for good luck.

Something Blue - The colour blue is the symbol of loyalty and faithfulness - The modern choice is a blue garter, however traditionally the bride would tie a small blue ribbon in her hair.

A Sixpence in her Shoe - The sipence is a wish of wealth for the bride and her new husband - Tape the sixpence (or penny) on the base of the shoe near the heel or inside the shoe under the arch. Some brides like to select a coin that is from the year their grandmother was born for added luck.

The Wedding Veil

The exact origin of the wedding veil is still unclear, however, it has been suggested that the wedding veil originated centuries before the wedding dress. A popular explanation is that it dates back to when the groom would throw a blanket over his brides head when he captured her and carried her away. Another theory is that during the times when arranged marriages were still used the bride’s family would cover her face until the groom was committed during the wedding ceremony, once he was committed it was too late for him to run away if he was not happy with his bride!

Wedding Rings

The bride’s engagement ring and wedding band are worn traditionally on the left hand, third finger. This tradition dates back to ancient Egypt, the Egyptians believed this finger (ring finger) followed the “vena amoris” otherwise known as the “vein of love” which runs directly to the heart.

Bridal flowers

Bridal flowers have a very long history and date back to ancient times, when the bride would carry strong scented herbs and flowers to send away evil spirits and ward off poor health and bad luck.

It is said that during Roman times floral garlands were worn by the bride and groom, to symbolise hope, fertility and new life. The bridal bouquet also symbolised that a woman was in full bloom.

During the Victorian times a different meaning was born. Courting couples would send love messages to each other using flowers, each flower having a different meaning and message. These meanings as still used today.

The most popular flowers for a bridal bouquet are tulips, roses and lilies. These flowers mean:
Red Rose – Love
White Rose – Worthiness
Pink or White Rose– Love and Beauty
Tulips – Love
Lilies – Return of Happiness

Why Does The Bride Stand On The Left?

During the wedding ceremony, the groom will always stand on the right with his bride on the left. This tradition dates back to a time when the groom would steal his bride and if he had to fight off other men he would hold his bride with on his left arm and use his right hand to swing his sword.

The Best Man

Traditionally the best man was the strongest and best fighter the groom could find, he was used to fend off the brides father, brothers and other suitors. This was generally done if the marriage did not have the bride’s families blessing.

A Diamond Engagement Ring

This tradition was from the medieval Italians. The Italians believed that a diamond was formed and created from the flames of love. This was then given to the bride as a symbol of and unbreakable love.

The Wedding Garter

The tradition of the garter toss was founded in France, the French considered anything the bride wore was lucky. The garter would be thrown by the bride and the catcher would have good luck.

Throwing Rice

The throwing of rice over a couple who had just exchanged vows was first originated from the ancient pagans. The pagans believed that grain represented fertility and by showering the couple with grain they were wishing them many children.

An Odd Love Story

Olalala, time goes so fast, so quickly, but I want more, more fast and quick.. any idea why? Seven weeks and five days to go I can see again my family after eight years here in Israel. And of course, excited to meet this person behind this blog "Love is in the Air"

And because it's Thursday, once again it's time for Nostalgia..Hehehe! Down my memory lane, a continuation of my entry last week as everyone said "bitin daw sila" lol! So here it is guys!

When the time I saw his username "yama_kasannagi" not knowing that he is one of the founder of the group. My heart, beat so fast .. lol (na totoo yan)why? because I enjoyed buffing him in the chat room using other username too. So, at that night we ended up chatting privately. Then the next day a friend of him who happened to be my friend too, was telling me " ano ginawa mo kay yama? huh , I didn't do anything to him. Somehow, I thought my charm works. (wink). He asked my number from his friend that I used to chatted with. He thought that I'm working in Jeddah and we could meet in the church where he used to attend church activities. So, his friend said " Are you dreaming?why you ask her number? Amber (that was my username) is working in Israel and there is no way you can call her?" He was shocked then, (as to speak) and told his friend "charmie is in Israel not amber" Hahhaha! (charmie was my username when he kicked me) and he didn't know that "charmie and amber" are the same person. Either way, I never knew na di pala niya alam(kakaloka mga kapatid). His friend laughed at him, he was embarrassed (as to speak) and didn't chat me for a few days.

One day, he sent me a message saying "hello , how are you?can we talk?", Said, yes why not? then he started confessing and sharing me about his family. At first, I cannot believe if he was telling me the truth. But I can feel his sincerity. We became good  friends before he courted me. We used to send romantic songs, laughed his jokes and had fun his good sense of humor. Sometimes we ended up talking til 4 o'clock in the morning. Hence, I believe that this man is sincere with his feelings and I started to consider of what I felt towards him. We  both agreed to put our relationship ( in the air)  into a serious one. He communicated my parents first before I phone his mother. I can say, he won the heart of my mother.LOL!

After two and half years, that happened merely over the internet. He proposed to me.And without hesitation, I'm happy to accept it.

Hey guys, naloka ba kayo?..!!! Sorry ang korni!Sana di na bitin!:(

That's the end.........This is the first song he sent  me, I found it here in my notes!

Our Story Begin

My world just revolve after work by reading novels, magazines or even sometimes if I'm in the mood I write a few lines what comes up on my mind. That was before I became chat addict. ^-^

Back 2006, my friend introduced me these mig33-the world largest mobile first community wherein you can meet new friends, chat and have fun. You can even send free text messages, play games and much more. From that on, I forgot to read my book. Sleep late at night, Oh not at night, I don't even sleep.LOL! I enjoyed chatting with sense or senseless topics. Sometimes, I forgot to eat lunch and dinner. I made few friends and  few offline relationships. I don't know if they are really real or not but as long I enjoyed talking to them I wouldn't mind.

With my fascination in these chat world, I often heard the username "yamashita" pero di ko pa siya na encounter. Ika nga sikat siya sa mga kasamahan kung babae sa work. And one of my workmate wanted him to be her boyfriend. Naalala ko noon, "humanda yan si yamashita, kakaririn ko yan" . "Kakaririn" is our chat term "to intimidate".  I'm just sitting on the side corner and listened to their bluffing because my old lady patient doesn't want to participate to a large group. Then one day, I was in the chatroom, and suddenly when I supposed to send a message, screen appeared " your has been kicked by voltz" So what I did, I sent a private message to that username and said "are you out of your mind?, why you kicked me?." Abah ang sinagot ba naman sa akin is the icon (tongue out)Like he said , bleeh! LOL!  I was so irritated because we were in the middle of an interesting topic inside the chat room. I never knew that username "voltz and yamashita" is the same person until I asked my workmate who is votz. ^-^. Eng-eng din ako kahit 1 year na ako noon sa chat.  Mahilig kasi ako sa private chat. Hahaha!

It was sometime September 2007, one of my male chat friend invited me to managed a chat room. Char, bongga manager na ako!LOL! So, I joined together with a friend too. The chat room was named Pinoy Friends. The three of us ran the chat room so smoothly. We have activities such as Q&A in general knowledge, essays, current events , etc. Anything to provide our chatters to stay, enjoy and have some fun at the same time they can learn a little bit. Until my friend introduced me to his friend who founded a group "Kasannagi Family. The founder used to visit the room from time to time and then he saw how I well managed the room.Char , parang McDonald well! Thus, he invited me to join the his "no life group". At first I was hesitant to accept the invitation. Tanong ko pa " what is the mission of your group?" " Are you nice people?" But later on, I joined the group and became an active member. That was the time I saw "yamashita" again using a username "yama_kasannagi" not knowing that he was one of the founder of the group. We chat, we talk, we became friends. Then we both found out we fall to each other.

Dreaming Another World

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of goviral. All opinions are 100% mine.

My father loves country, retro and vintage music and one of his favorite band is the Mystery Jets. Early morning he used to play their music that rocks usually our morning especially on Sunday when all the members of the family are together. Thus, their music sounds very familiar to me.  It’s really cool and they’re amazing.  I think they are always amazing since then. They got a music that rocks me, makes me dance to the tune. In fact, I grew up, lovin’ the mix music of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s because of my father.
Just recently, I have seen the preview of their brand new single entitled Dreaming  Another  World directly come from Stella Artois ‘ CO2 Soiree Show, which was broadcast inside the New Carbon-efficient Stella Artois bottle.  You might not like or not your type of music especially at young age but  you should give a chance to listen. You may dislike at first but you will never know it might be a song of your life.  Lol, Just Kidding!

How do you find it? Do you like it? Of course, I love it. While listening I actually dreamed to have this music as my retro dance on my wedding day! Sounds fantastic isn’t it?

Shall I stay or Shall I go?

I spoke to one of my friend this afternoon and the way she's telling me the story about her relationship with her boyfriend,  I can sense that she is not happy. She wanted to give up but she consider a lot of things in their relationship. I can feel that she is confused and asking herself if she will stay or go in that relationship

After talking with her , it reminds my first relationship with my ex-boyfriend. It was difficult and I put myself more crap then I should have. Everybody continually told me to end the relationship, yet this is one of those things an individual needs to learn on their own and figure out for themselves, otherwise, they'll end up for a similar person and doing it all over again.

There may have good times, in fact there were, he was very kind and generous to me, or else I wouldn't gotten into the relationship in the first place, or it wouldn't be so shard to break up and wouldn't be asking question.

But there was also a lot of bad, which is why it ended?

Time comes I was brave and gave up and  move forward and seek another relationship but before that I gave myself to contemplate a lot of things on what I want to do. I took a break from a relationships and figure out not only on who I was but figure out what I want in my life in the future.

We are not in the same situation but the more we hold things, the more we get hurt.

I was very glad that I'm no longer in that relationship anymore.

Most people enjoy getting married in a church or chapel . And the bride wears a white gown and the groom wears a tuxedo with all the family and friends around. Then, there are some people who like getting married in different odd ways. Apparently, standing in a church just no memorable enough for them. 4. World of Craft Wedding - World of Craft is MMORPG or massive multiplayer onlie role play game. You can as warlocks, ogres, elves and others. How about to have this and resuming those identities?

5. Wicca Wedding - Does your worship call for being in a field? If it is does, then getting married in a field makes total sense. "Handfasting" to Wiccans and Pagans is a normal event for wedding, even if the rest of the world find it strange.

Selecting the right wedding souvenirs

Yes, there are a lot of array in selecting wedding souvenirs , brides and grooms are often dizzy before they can decide on what souvenirs they want to have or order.  Perfect Wedding Zone,  give a guide to avoid mistakes in selecting your wedding souvenirs.

1. Waiting longer to order the favors
This mistake is usually made due to uncertainty in the number of guests. First you need to have a better idea of how many guests will be attending the ceremony. Then you can easily order for a specific amount of guests.
Waiting too long will cause you to find fewer options. Personalized and custom wedding favors take time to make. Planning beforehand is therefore a must.
2. Unable to decide on the right amount
You need to plan in advance and order the right number of favors. For this, you need to decide whether you want to give one favor for each of your guests or one favor for each couple.
3. Ordering the favors that don’t replicate your individuality
Choose the favors that replicate your hobbies, passions or interests. It is better to go with a theme. Any favor with your photo on can be a great keepsake. Don’t choose favors that are generic and bland.
4. Allotting large amount of budget
Favors are usually given to thank the guests for attending the wedding ceremony. However, that does not mean that they should be costly and you need not spend too much on them.
5. Ordering favors that are not functional or useful
Choose favors that your guests can use such as frames, candles, magnets, chocolate bars etc.

Successful men don't like to date up

"Successful men don't date up. They are intimidated by wealthy women unless they are blue bloods. Successful men want to always take care of their women, and that means financially."

I have read  the Wall Street Journal from a millionaire matchmaker Patti Stanger , that well-off men don't want to date a wealthy women, unless the women inherited that money of course. She might know a certain brand of millionaires, but I'm not buying the idea that every rich dude finds a successful women intimidating. I am not a rich girl but I think, hardworking self -made female millionaires that are often intimidating to these men. That's my point of view.

On the other hand, I cannot generalize for all successful man. Because there are a lot, out there too who married with successful women and double the income what he makes. Hmmm...As we absolutely know that women loves to be pampered by their men. And men loves to provide for and take care of their "woman". Take out for dinner, buying jewelry, etc.. provide that make her happy and satisfy. Those are the things they can do and feel manly.

Nevertheless, who doesn't want a luxury  life? With all the good things that makes you happy. It is always a dream of everybody. And its intimidating to have a guy to pay and give everything for you. Isn't it?

Have you experience like that? How do you feel? Did you ask yourself how can you repay him?

Summer Bride MakeUp Tips

Every bride want to look more beautiful in their big day. And summer is the best day for wedding because the sun is shining. Its beautiful though, but brides are worried that make ups will melt in their pretty face and turn to complexion shiny. So if you are a summer bride here are some steps to be followed from the beauty and health expert.

For Your Body -
The day before your wedding, cut back on dehydrating alcohol and avoid spicy foods, which can make you flush.

Lighten UpIf you have very dry skin, a hydrating body wash might not be enough to make your skin feel soft and smooth. Instead of a thick body cream, which can cause perspiration, try a fast-absorbing dry oil,

Shower Smart
On your big day, give yourself two to three hours to get ready. Racing around only raises your body temperature and stress level. In the shower, use a moisturizing cleanser, like Dove Supreme Cream Oil Body Wash.  It deposits rich emollients on skin so that you can skip heavy creams. Then rinse with brisk water. If you start to feel hot later, run your wrists -- which are pulse points -- under cold water for a quick cool-down.

Stay DryDust a moisture-absorbing powder, like Johnson & Johnson Baby Powder Cooling Cucumber Melon  from your bra line to your feet. And use a powerful antiperspirant. Try Secret Clinical Strength the night before. Put it on the soles of your feet as well, to avoid slipping out of sandals.

Pour MoreWater is key to feeling refreshed. Add a few cucumber slices, which have cooling properties, and keep sipping throughout the day.

 For your Smooth Hair
Choose a style that gets your hair off your neck -- a soft updo will ensure you're comfortable.

Top Knot
When deciding whether to wear your hair up or down, consider this: Updos stay neater longer, and they really flatter your bone structure and neckline. Equally important, hair left down can feel like you're wearing a scarf in the summer! For a modern look, opt for soft variations on the classic chignon instead of severe or product-shellacked buns. The style shown here is adorned with fabric flowers by Jennifer Behr

Smooth MovesFrizz can be a problem on humid days. So avoid alcohol-based gels, which can dry hair, attract moisture, and give strands a fuzzy finish. Instead, apply a smoothing serum to damp hair before drying it. Giannandrea likes L'Oreal Professionnel Texture Gelee Rich. To keep curly hair soft, blow-dry hair and recreate the curls with an iron, which seals hair's cuticle, preventing frizz. Style and set it with spray. Try Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Frizz Control Anti-Humidity Hairspray. Then blast neck and face with the dryer's cool setting. Avoid touching hair, and stay out of the heat until the last moment.

For a Pretty Face
Your wedding is your day to shine, but not literally. Stay photo-ready with sheer, long-lasting cosmetics that can take the heat without wilting.

Wear Light LayersTo make makeup last -- and stay in place -- layer on cosmetics; use eye shadow primer before brushing on neutral-colored shadows, and apply a cream blush try Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks, then top it with a similar shade of a powder. Likewise, line your eyes with pencil first, then go over them with a thin liquid liner. Try L'Oreal Lineur Intense. For lips, apply a stain. That way, you'll have some color on even after you've been kissing a lot.

To create flawless-looking skin without piling on heavy makeup, use a foundation brush, which makes it easier to deposit the right amount of product,Use it only where you need it -- like on blemishes or the red areas around your nose and chin. Then finish with a light dusting o right before you head down the aisle.

Go to the Matte
To prevent shine, first apply an oil-absorbing treatment . If you have very oily skin, consult your doctor about Accutane, which can permanently shrink oil glands.
